Year 6 : HMS Belfast Trip

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

On November 11th and 12th, Year 6 classes visited HMS Belfast as part of their ongoing topic, ‘Events of the Twentieth Century’.  The children and adults travelled by train from West Croydon station to London Bridge and walked along the River Thames to where the ship is docked.

Children were given the chance to explore the ship in small groups to find out about the jobs that people did and what life was like for them on board.  The trip extended and supported learning on the Second World War and the experience will be used by children for some follow-up writing.
