We are very pleased to have successfully renewed the Primary History Quality Mark Award Silver Level. The PGQM is seen as a key strategy for raising the quality of History in primary schools and recognises the excellent history provision in the school. The assessor stated,

‘There was evidence that history was being used as an effective motivational context for the teaching of literacy, particularly extended writing. Staff were enthusiastic about the teaching of history which they conveyed to their pupils and this was a consequence of effective leadership. From the evidence added to the portfolio it is clear that the subject leader is active and enthusiastic, maintaining the standard set by her predecessor effectively and adding to it.’

Congratulations to all staff and pupils for all their hard work with this submission. We will continue to hold this award for a further 3 years.
